Aarushi Tutoring Privacy Policy

Last updated: 25 August 2026

This privacy notice tells you what to expect us to do with your personal information. It covers this website and the tutoring service provided through it.

Contact details

Aarushi Vishnoi, trading as Aarushi Tutoring, is the data controller for the personal information described in this notice. Aarushi Tutoring is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) as a data controller.

Email: aarushi.tutoring@gmail.com
Phone: 07429271104

For any questions about this notice, or to exercise your rights, contact us using the details above.

What information we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect and use the following:

  • Identity and contact information: parent and student names, email addresses and phone numbers.
  • Education: the student's year group, subjects, exam board, current and target grades, submitted work, progress reports and exam results.
  • Lesson records: lesson dates, attendance, content covered, feedback, and homework.
  • SEND and accessibility: information you choose to share about special educational needs, health or accessibility, so we can make reasonable adjustments.
  • Safeguarding: information necessary to protect a child.
  • Financial: the service booked, prices, dates of payment, refunds and accounting information. Card payments are processed by Stripe, and we do not store your full card details.
  • Website: the information you submit through the contact form. Our hosting provider records standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, for security and to keep the site running.
  • Marketing: names and contact details.

We never sell your information, and we will not add you to a marketing list without your consent.

Cookies and Website Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use this site. It sets cookies that collect information such as the pages you visit, how long you spend on the site, and the device and browser you are using. This information is aggregated to show how the site is performing as a whole rather than to identify you personally, and it is processed by Google on our behalf.

These cookies are only set if you accept them in the cookie notice shown when you first visit. If you choose "Essential Only", Google Analytics is not loaded, no analytics cookies are set, and no information about your visit is sent to Google.

You can read Google's Privacy Policy for how Google handles that data. If you would rather not be included, you can opt out of Google Analytics on every website you visit by installing Google's opt-out browser add-on.

Beyond analytics, this website runs no advertising or tracking software. The reviews shown on the site are page content rather than a third-party review widget, so reading them involves no outside service.

The introduction video is embedded in privacy-enhanced mode and loads nothing from YouTube until you click play. Once you do, YouTube receives your request and its own terms apply.

Our enquiry form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to check that submissions come from a person rather than a bot. It sets no tracking cookies and does not profile visitors.

Information about children

Tutoring involves personal information about students who are usually under 18. Lessons are arranged with a parent or guardian, and it is the parent or guardian who provides that information and who can exercise the rights set out in this notice on the student's behalf. We collect only what is needed to teach the student effectively and to keep them safe, and we never use it for marketing.

Where we get personal information from

  • Directly from a parent and student.
  • From our website enquiry form, email, Calendly, Stripe, WhatsApp and social media.

Lawful bases and data protection rights

Under UK data protection law, we must have a "lawful basis" for collecting and using your personal information. There is a list of possible lawful bases in the UK GDPR, and you can find out more about them on the ICO's website.

Which lawful basis we rely on may affect your data protection rights, which are set out in brief below. You can find out more about your data protection rights, and the exemptions which may apply, on the ICO's website:

  • Your right of access. You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information. You can also request other information, such as details about where we get personal information from and who we share it with. Some exemptions apply, which means you may not receive all the information you ask for.
  • Your right to rectification. You have the right to ask us to correct or complete personal information you think is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Your right to erasure. You have the right to ask us to delete your personal information.
  • Your right to restriction of processing. You have the right to ask us to limit how we use your personal information.
  • Your right to object to processing. You have the right to object to the processing of your personal data.
  • Your right to data portability. You have the right to ask us to transfer the personal information you gave us to another organisation, or to you.
  • Your right to withdraw consent. Where we use consent as our lawful basis, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time.

If you make a request, we must respond without undue delay and, in any event, within one month. To make a data protection rights request, please contact us using the contact details at the top of this notice.

Our lawful bases for using your information

We rely on a different lawful basis depending on what we are using your information for.

To reply to your enquiry and arrange lessons. Lawful basis: legitimate interests. We are responding to someone who has contacted us. All of your data protection rights may apply, except the right to portability.

To deliver tutoring, prepare resources and report on progress. Lawful basis: contract. We need this information to provide the tutoring service agreed with you. All of your data protection rights may apply, except the right to object.

To take payment and keep financial records. Lawful basis: contract, for taking and recording payment for lessons, and legal obligation, for the tax and accounting records UK law requires us to keep. For the records we must keep by law, the right to erasure, the right to object and the right to portability do not apply.

To understand SEND, health or accessibility needs and make reasonable adjustments. This is special category information, so we use it only where you have chosen to share it. Lawful basis: consent, and for the special category information itself, your explicit consent (Article 9). You can withdraw your consent at any time, and doing so will not affect the tutoring itself.

To protect a child and meet our safeguarding duties. Lawful basis: legal obligation, and, where someone is at risk, the protection of their vital interests. Where this involves special category information, we rely on the safeguarding condition in UK data protection law. Because this basis exists to protect someone, some rights do not apply in the usual way.

To keep the website secure and available. Lawful basis: legitimate interests. All of your data protection rights may apply, except the right to portability.

To send marketing or service updates you have asked for. Lawful basis: consent. All of your data protection rights may apply, except the right to object. You can withdraw your consent at any time.

Where we rely on legitimate interests, we use your information because it benefits you or us without causing an undue risk to anyone. For enquiries, this is limited to replying and understanding what support is needed. For website security, it is limited to keeping the site running and protecting it. In both cases the information involved is limited to what is necessary, and because this processing is a normal part of contacting or using a tutoring service, the privacy impact is low. You can ask us for more detail using the contact details above.

How long we keep information

We keep personal information for the following periods:

  • Enquiries that do not lead to lessons are deleted within 12 months.
  • Records relating to students are kept for the duration of tutoring and for up to 12 months afterwards.
  • Records needed for tax and accounting are kept for 6 years, as UK law requires.

You can ask us to delete your information earlier at any time.

Who we share information with

Data processors

Third-party cloud software and IT service providers (technology and software-as-a-service sector, located in the UK, EEA and US under appropriate international data transfer safeguards).

These providers securely process and store personal data on our behalf to host online video lessons, manage lesson bookings, manage communications, store educational and administrative records, and process client fee payments. The specific providers we use are:

  • Cloudflare: website hosting and security.
  • Postmark: delivers enquiry-form submissions to us by email.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile: checks that form submissions come from a person rather than a bot.
  • Calendly: consultation appointment booking.
  • Google: Google Meet for lessons, Google Classroom for resources and work, and email.
  • Stripe: processes card payments for lesson fees.
  • YouTube: the introduction video embedded on the site.
  • WhatsApp/Facebook Messenger: where you choose to message us that way. WhatsApp is operated by Meta and its own terms apply.

Others we share personal information with

We also share information where it is required or necessary to safeguard someone or to comply with the law, such as:

  • Organisations we need to share information with for safeguarding reasons.
  • Organisations we're legally obliged to share personal information with.

Sharing information outside the UK

Some of our data processors are based outside the UK. Where information is transferred internationally, the transfer is covered by appropriate safeguards, specifically the UK International Data Transfer Addendum (IDTA) or standard contractual clauses (SCCs). To obtain a copy of the safeguards for any transfer, please contact us using the details above.

We may update this notice from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
